Charter: The Registrar for International Safety & Compliance

Purpose of the Charter

The purpose of this Charter is to establish the principles and framework under which the registrar for international safety and compliance (The RISC Organisation) operates as an independent International registrar of Companies and Personnel in the fields of safety, compliance, testing, inspection, and certification. This Charter outlines the standards, values, and commitments governing the registration of corporate bodies and compliance professionals, including managers, administrators, internal auditors, lead auditors, and inspectors.

Mission Statement

To support and recognise professional development, ethical practice, and competency within the compliance sector by offering a structured registration pathway for corporates and individuals working in key compliance-related fields.

Scope of Registration

The RISC Organisation offers registration for professionals in the following roles:


Compliance Managers – Overseeing compliance frameworks, systems, and policies.

Compliance Administrators – Supporting the implementation and documentation of compliance processes.

Internal Auditors – Conducting internal assessments of compliance, quality, safety and risk controls.

Lead Auditors – Leading and coordinating audit processes to ensure conformity with applicable compliance standards.

Inspectors – Performing inspections in regulated environments to verify compliance with laws and standards.


Corporates are provided access to registration through specific entry nodes relative to their professional field and industrial sector operations.

Registration Objectives

Through registration, The RISC Organisation aims to:


Recognise individuals' commitment to professional standards and ongoing development through certification and use of licensed post nominals awarded through the registration process.

Support professional identity and credibility in the compliance industry.


Encourage continuous learning, ethical conduct, and effective practice.

Provide a central registry where compliance professionals can be publicly acknowledged for their engagement in professional development.


Recognise corporate bodies for adopting a compliance management system(s) based upon PDCA and maintaining them to meet objectives for continual improvement. 

Standards of Practice

All RISC Organisation registrants commit to the following:


Personnel:

Act with integrity and impartiality in all professional activities.

Maintain confidentiality and uphold data protection principles.

Promote safety, compliance, and risk management in their area of responsibility.

Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain knowledge and skills relevant to their role.

Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.


Corporates:

Perform business whilst under registration, diligently, ethically and with due consideration for Environmental, Social and Governance aspects and impacts in accordance with a full set of rules detailed during application and as may from time to time be updated.

Registration Criteria

To be listed on the RISC Organisation International Register of compliance professionals, and Registered Companies applicants must:


Personnel:

Have completed a Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma from The TIC Academy, or

Hold a qualification, appropriate training or experience at certificate level or higher from a RISC Organisation recognised provider, and

Demonstrate engagement in compliance-related work or professional learning.

Registrants will receive a RISC Organisation Registered e-Certificate, use of RISC Organisation Licensed post nominals and be listed for a period of 12 months, with options for renewal through CPD or continued engagement.


Corporates:

Have met the full requirements of the entry criteria for the registration route established at time of application.

Maintain their compliance management system under PDCA and demonstrate continual improvement through management review processes.

Governance and Oversight

The RISC Organisation maintains internal governance procedures to ensure that registration standards remain aligned with current industry practices. Registration decisions are guided by internal policies, periodic reviews, and engagement with the professional community.

The RISC Organisation aligns its services with industry best practice for corporates and personnel registration bodies, ensuring that its registration processes reflect recognised principles of competence, fairness, and transparency. The Organisation is committed to maintaining high standards of professional recognition and service delivery as it continues to support organisations and individuals working in the fields of compliance, safety, and risk management.
